Ms. Laura Cowell, MSW, received her Master of Social Work from Troy University in 2022 and her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Northwestern State University in 2020. Laura’s social work career began with hospice volunteering and later shifted to working with children. As a military spouse of fifteen years, Laura has had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients in both rural and urban areas.
Her first professional position was as a Family Advocate at the community level. After a year, she was accepted into the accelerated MSW program at Troy and pursued a position as a Student Aide Substitute Teacher at DoDEA Southeast for students with emotional impairments. She recently transitioned from Allied Behavioral Health Solutions as a Clinical Therapist to relocate to the Eglin Air Force Base area.
Laura enjoys working with various modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and SPARCS. Laura’s goal is to help individuals feel validated and better by empowering them and teaching skills that are easy to use, while also honoring a safe space.
