Ms. Nancy Christian, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, NCC

Ms. Christian approaches counseling with a holistic view, seeking to first understand the client’s problem and then helping them use their strengths to help accomplish their desired counseling results. She is an outside the box thinker when helping her clients understand that they are an integral part of reaching their goals towards healing. She has deep empathy for others and has welcomed speaking Spanish with clients who feel most comfortable using their native language.

Ms. Christian received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland with a B.A.Sc in Psychology and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Her professional experience has primarily focused on the support of adult mental health patients in the areas of trauma, dual-diagnosis substance abuse, bipolar disorder, chronic illnesses, severe anxiety, debilitating depressive disorders, and military stressors.  Ms. Christian is a collaborative clinician who uses her client-centered instincts to help you reach your maximum goals.

Ms. Christian has strong advocacy with the military population because she has more than 20 years of volunteering and advocating for military concerns as a military spouse. Ms. Christian began volunteering and supporting the mission of the Fisher House on Joint Base Andrews in 2007 and by 2014, she assumed the helm of  Vice President, Board of Directors and one year later quickly rose to her final position with the Fisher House as President, Board of Directors until 2018. Under her leadership, the Fisher House’s mission increased in their impact and outreach to serving military families. The Fisher House provides military-affiliated families room and board at no cost to them throughout the duration of inpatient service members, retirees or veterans care at local healthcare facilities.

In Ms. Christian’s leisure time she enjoys traveling, gardening her beautiful flowers, and spending time swimming with her family which includes her two fur babies.
